Spacebank, an intelligent digital transformation (AIDX) specialist led by CEO Woney Lee, announced on the 27th that it will jointly operate the Physical AI Testbed Lab (LPAT) in Pangyo, Seongnam, in collaboration with the Industry-Academia Cooperation Center for Artificial Intelligence at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea.

This partnership aims to establish a robotics and AI testbed ecosystem for validating physical AI and robot-driven digital transformation (DX) technologies, as well as for identifying and nurturing promising startups.

LPAT is a dedicated testing facility designed to validate robotics, sensor, and intelligent IoT (AIoT) technologies in real-world environments. Within this space, the two organizations plan to conduct convergence research in physical AI and DX, support experimental validation for trainees and researchers from defense AI education programs, and test physical robot AX technologies. The lab will be developed into an open innovation hub accessible to companies, institutions, and research teams.

Spacebank will structure the lab to enable robot service validation and business model testing based on its Software Defined Robot (SDR) platform. By moving beyond traditional hardware-centric robot service development, the company aims to enable flexible addition and updates of software functionalities, thereby improving development efficiency and scalability.

At the core of this initiative is Spacebank’s SDR platform, centered on its integrated robot control system, RoboViewX, which will serve as the foundational technology for AI-robot convergence experiments conducted at the lab. RoboViewX enables centralized control and management of heterogeneous robots through a single interface, offering real-time video streaming, 3D visualization, task history analysis, and sensor data monitoring. This enhances operational stability and responsiveness in real-world environments.

Spacebank expects its technologies to be utilized across a variety of validation scenarios within LPAT, enabling integrated operation of robots, sensors, and environmental data. The company also anticipates that these applications will expand into sectors such as defense, manufacturing, and logistics.

Commenting on the collaboration, Woney Lee, CEO of Spacebank, said, “This partnership marks an important milestone in accelerating the validation and industrial application of robot and AIDX convergence technologies. We expect it to drive innovation across various fields, including startup development and defense AI validation research.”
