Woney Lee, CEO of Spacebank, has been awarded the Presidential Commendation for Contributions to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Industry in recognition of his proven achievements in advancing the sector.
The award ceremony was held to commemorate the 59th Science Day and the 71st Information and Communications Day, honoring key contributors who have led the advancement of science, technology, and ICT in Korea.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Communications Commission, the event was held under the theme “Science and Technology, a Great Leap Forward with AI.” It recognized individuals who have secured future growth engines for the nation. In particular, the Presidential Commendation for ICT Contributions awarded to Woney Lee is one of the highest government honors granted to individuals who have significantly enhanced the national stature of the ICT industry and contributed to technological innovation and industrial expansion.
Woney Lee was officially recognized for his contributions to technological innovation and industry-wide adoption in the fields of AI Transformation (AX) and Digital Transformation (DX). He has been credited with dramatically improving development productivity by implementing DataOps-based AI·DX solutions through a low-code approach.
In practice, Spacebank has developed an integrated pipeline for heterogeneous sensor data through its AIoT solution, “AIoT Wright.” This technology enables data-driven decision-making systems and strengthens enterprise-level digital capabilities.
Additionally, Spacebank’s Software Defined Robot (SDR)-based platform, “RoboViewX,” played a key role in Lee’s recognition. The platform provides integrated control infrastructure for diverse robots and sensors, setting a benchmark for next-generation robotic operation environments.
“This award is a recognition of the value of the AX and DX innovations we have pursued,” said Woney Lee, CEO of Spacebank. “We will continue to drive AX and DX across both industrial and public sectors based on AI technologies.”
Meanwhile, Spacebank is expanding its business into public and security sectors through participation in national defense AX projects. The company has also established a “Physical AI Verification Lab” in collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University’s Industry-Academia AI Cooperation Center. The facility conducts pilot projects in environments integrating robots, sensors, and AIoT, further enhancing real-world applicability of its technologies.
