Spacebank, a specialist in intelligent digital transformation (AIDX) led by CEO Woney Lee, announced that it was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the K-Humanoid Alliance as a participating company in the robotics initiative.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the launch event brought together approximately 350 participants from industry, academia, and research institutions, including Minister Ahn Duk-geun and Seoul National University President Yoo Hong-lim. The event served as a platform to reaffirm a shared commitment to building a domestic humanoid robotics ecosystem and strengthening Korea’s technological competitiveness in the field.
The K-Humanoid Alliance is a public-private cooperation platform involving around 40 robot manufacturers, AI research institutes, and demand-side companies. The government plans to promote more than KRW 1 trillion in combined public and private investment by 2030, with the goal of developing a shared AI foundation model, commercializing high-performance humanoid robots, and localizing the production of key components.
Minister Ahn Duk-geun stated, “The humanoid sector is a highly promising industry expected to grow 25-fold over the next decade, from USD 1.5 billion this year to USD 38 billion by 2035, and it is directly linked to the future competitiveness of Korea’s manufacturing industry. The government will provide full support for collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions to help Korea become a global leader in humanoid robotics.”
Spacebank is an SDR (Software Defined Robot) platform company that is expanding its R&D efforts around its in-house platform, RoboViewX. The company is currently collaborating with major research institutions such as KIST and KETI to apply its SDR platform to logistics robots, hospital logistics robots, F&B robots, and quadruped robots. Looking ahead, Spacebank plans to actively expand its technology into the humanoid robotics sector, continuing to drive practical and flexible innovation by combining AIDX technologies with robot operating platforms.
The alliance also includes companies such as Rebellions, DeepX, SK On, LG Energy Solution, and Samsung SDI, strengthening cooperation in key technologies including high-performance, low-power AI semiconductors and high-density batteries. The government plans to support technological self-reliance through large-scale investment, including R&D in AI semiconductors, while also pursuing coordinated efforts in joint research, data sharing, talent development, and demonstration projects to enhance the overall competitiveness of Korea’s robotics industry.
