Spacebank participated in the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East, "GITEX Expand North Star 2024," held at Dubai Harbour from October 13 to 16, showcasing its AI DX solutions based on a low-code development platform. During the event, Spacebank demonstrated its robot, facility, and safety management solutions and introduced a non-contact sensor-based safety monitoring solution capable of detecting heart rate, breathing, sleep apnea, posture, and falls. |
The GITEX is the largest ICT exhibition in the Middle East, held annually in Dubai, the largest city in the UAE. Recognized as one of the world's top three ICT trade shows alongside CES and MWC, GITEX serves as a hub for investment and exchange, attracting ICT investors, government agencies, and companies. Global companies participate to showcase the latest technologies and innovations, sharing technology trends and exploring collaboration opportunities across diverse fields such as artificial intelligence, fintech, smart cities, and cloud computing. This year's event marked the largest in its history, with 6,700 companies from 180 countries, organized into four main sections: Future Technology, Consumer Tech, Enterprise Network & Security, and Other Tech. |
Notably, GITEX 2024 was divided into two main sections: "GITEX Global" and "Expand North Star 2024" which focused on startups. Promising startups from around the world gathered to showcase new technologies. Several prominent South Korean companies, including Spacebank, participated to explore entry into the Middle Eastern market, achieving various export deals and partnership agreements. Spacebank participated in the Korea Digital Pavilion at the GITEX Expand North Star 2024, where a total of 96 Korean companies showcased the technologies and services of Korea’s promising digital firms to the world. The pavilion included 35 companies sponsored by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), as well as companies hosted by the Korea Internet & Security Agency, Korea International Trade Association, Korea Creative Content Agency, Seoul Investment Agency, Korea Software Industry Association, and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. Spacebank's Human Care solution, which provides safety monitoring functions based on non-contact sensors that detect heart rate, respiration, sleep apnea, posture, and falls, attracted significant attention from buyers in the UAE market, leading to the successful signing of an MOU agreement.

Additionally, Spacebank held a meeting with Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, to discuss Spacebank-UAE digital cooperation initiatives. The meeting included key companies and government officials, such as Darisoft, SpaceWavy, DeepNoid, and PopcornSAR. Minister Omar Sultan Al Olama, appointed in 2017 as the world’s first Minister of AI, is recognized as a leader in UAE’s digital transformation. He has been named one of the “100 Most Influential People in AI” by Time magazine. Woney Lee, founder and CEO of Spacebank, said “Digital transformation in smart cities like Dubai is essential, and Spacebank’s low-code-based AI DX solutions are expected to play a key role in accelerating this transformation.” emphasizing the growth potential in the Middle Eastern market.

Spacebank was selected as a participant in the “2023 Saudi Aramco Open Innovation” support program, organized by the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA), and received an official invitation to the Global Industrial Internet of Things Summit (GIITS) hosted by Saudi Aramco. At this event, Spacebank showcased its smart integrated control system, AIoT Wright, as an Industrial IoT (IIoT) use case at the GIITS exhibition booth, promoting Korean software technology to the global market and highlighting the potential for Korean ICT companies to expand into the Middle East.
